An Excellent YearPartners In Contracting Corporation Clients had a good year among the 8 Indiana counties that it serves this past year (effective 11/1/04 that is 26 counties). The fiscal calendar year 2003/04 closed on Oct. 31, 2004 with PICC clients securing nearly $72 million in government contracts or subcontracts. This was a considerable increase from the previous year, which produced just under $43 million. Prime Contract Awards, contracts directly with the government, totaled over $63 million (2573 contracts). The remaining $8 million were subcontract awards (1201 subcontracts). Clients in Lake, Porter and La Porte counties saw substantial growth. Their government contracts in Lake County increased from just over $17 million in 2002/03 to nearly $41 million in 2003/04 while La Porte rose from around $1.5 million to just shy of $13 million. Porter County more than doubled their total contracts from $1 million to over $2.2 million. It is estimated that the employment creation/retention by companies around the portion of the state where the agency works accounted for 2270 jobs. For the three counties of Lake, Porter and La Porte there were approximately 1770 positions positively affected. In addition to the job creation/retention, the PICC staff assisted with nine State of Indiana Women Owned Business and eight State of Indiana Minority Owned Business Certifications. There is also one 8a SBA certification, still in the review process, that the agency helped with. |

Attention Contractors, are you registered with ORCA?The Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) is an e-Government Internet form. It has been created to replace the old paper based Representations and Certifications (Reps and Certs) process known as Section K. This process was developed to provide convenience for the individual by creating and maintaining Reps and Certs information online. It is also beneficial for the Contracting Officers who can view records and archives with ease. If the solicitation that you are responding to requires an active registration in CCR you must be registered in ORCA. ORCA registration can be done at www.bpn.gov by clicking on the “Online Reps and Certs Application” or by contacting the nearest Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). |
